Melody Gorman
Teacher
Durango Transitional Learning Center
Ms. Gorman has lived in Arizona for five years after growing up in the cold forest of Maine. Growing up, she had many pets, most notably two wolf hybrids and also has a little brother. While this is her first year at MCRSD, she taught at a charter high school for three years and taught 7th grade for two years. She graduated with a degree in Secondary English Education from the University of Maine at Farmington. While there, Ms. Gorman was an active member of the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) community service fraternity and an officer in the Otaku club. While terrified of needles, she donates blood regularly. In her free time, she likes to read, play games (both board and video) and enjoys crafts. An avid nerd, she has attended Phoenix ComiCon two years in a row.
